What is S235JR Plate?
S235JR is a European standard structural steel grade under the BS EN 10025-2 specification. The S235JR Plate is characterized by its excellent composition of carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur, providing good tolerance and resistance to adverse conditions. This versatile steel plate exhibits impressive mechanical properties, including a minimum yield strength of 225 MPa and tensile strength ranging from 360 to 510 MPa. Additionally, it can elongate by a minimum of 18% and is available in thicknesses greater than 6 mm.
The S235JR Structural Steel Plate is lightweight yet capable of withstanding a broad range of pressures and temperatures. With a nominal hardness of 235 Brinell, these plates can be produced in hot or cold rolled configurations. Our expert team utilizes advanced technology and state-of-the-art machinery to manufacture high-quality products for our valued customers.
The BS EN 10025-2 S235JR+N Steel Plate is supplied in normalized conditions, which lowers hardness and enhances ductility, allowing for versatility in various applications. The normalization process refines the grain structure, improving the overall strength and uniformity of the material, resulting in higher resistance to residual stress and a lower likelihood of failure.
The S235JR N Plate is designed with thicknesses ranging from 6 mm to 200 mm, making it suitable for construction applications that require reliable support and stability. However, it is important to note that this plate cannot be heat treated. The equivalent material for S235JR N is the low carbon GB Q235B steel grade.
