Description

The IS 2062 E350BR plates are a high-tensile, hot-rolled structural steel grade as per the Indian Standard IS 2062. These plates are commonly used in applications where structural strength and durability are essential, such as in the construction of bridges, buildings, and heavy equipment. The various sub-qualities (A, BR, B0, and C) differ based on their impact test requirements and de-oxidation modes:

  • E350A: No impact test required, can be semi-killed or fully killed steel.
  • E350BR: Impact test is optional; if required, it’s done at room temperature. The steel is either semi-killed or fully killed.
  • E350B0: Impact test is mandatory at 0°C, can be semi-killed or fully killed.
  • E350C: Impact test is mandatory at -20°C, and the steel must be fully killed.

Chemical Composition of IS 2062 E350BR:

  • Carbon (C): 0.20%
  • Manganese (Mn): 1.55%
  • Sulfur (S): 0.045%
  • Phosphorus (P): 0.045%
  • Silicon (Si): 0.45%
  • Carbon Equivalent (CE): Max 0.47%

These plates are widely manufactured and supplied across India and are suitable for various industrial applications where high strength and impact resistance are crucial.
